Why I love painting…
You know what I love about painting?
It teaches you so much about life.
Sometimes you have to paint over something you thought you loved.
Sometimes you need to let go of what looks beautiful —
because deep down, it doesn’t feel right.
And that’s hard.
But it’s also where the magic starts.
I’ve been working on a canvas I started years ago.
It never felt finished, never quite right —
and today, I painted over it completely.
But here’s the thing:
what’s underneath isn’t erased.
It’s part of the story.
It’s the ground on which something new is finally taking root.
And this morning, I took a risk.
I followed a quiet instinct to switch it all up —
and now I’m standing in front of this painting,
and I can feel it:
I’m going to be rewarded for that bravery.
Because art — like life — sometimes asks us
to let go of the almost-right
to make space for the deeply true.
